Luceda Photonics is pleased to announce the release of the AMF SiPhab 4.5 Process Design Kit (PDK). Developed in close collaboration with AMF, this release introduces a major advancement in simulation and modeling capabilities with the integration of wavelength-dependent models built on AMF's simulation and measurement data.


Luceda users can use the new Luceda PDK for AMF to confidently design and simulate circuits using advanced, foundry-calibrated building blocks, facilitating accurate, first-time-right circuit designs. This release underlines our commitment to empowering designers with robust, mature component models to streamline the design flow and ensure reliable results.


A key highlight of this PDK update is the detailed modeling of the phase shifter building blocks, which can be integrated into more complex circuits and components, such as Mach-Zehnder Interferometers (MZIs) and Micro Ring Resonators (MRRs). The example depicted in the images below shows how to run a steady-state frequency simulation of an MZI based on AMF’s thermo-optic phase shifter. The simulation accounts for both the voltage dependency of the phase shifter and the core width dependency of the silicon waveguide. This allows for detailed, realistic calculations of the MZI behavior across a range of bias voltages and waveguide widths.
