Front-End Software Engineer (BE)

ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for a highly motivated individual who will support us as a Front-End Software Engineer on our photonic IC design software and play an important role in the further development of our products.
In this role, you'll be working on IPKISS Canvas, our web-based GUI for designing photonic ICs in a schematic environment, as a complement to our Python framework, Luceda IPKISS.

YOUR PROFILE
We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of software engineering and its best practices.
- Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and TypeScript.
- Passionate about developing high-quality software that effectively addresses real-world problems.
- Able to put yourself in a user’s shoes and understand how they will use our software.
- Not afraid of working on a large, existing codebase.
- Curious mindset to comprehend the broader picture, consistently seeking answers to the "why" and "how" of our processes.
- Ability to think along with improving the software architecture, development processes, QA, and delivery infrastructure.
- Experience in common software development tools such as IDEs, version control systems, continuous integration platforms, etc.
It's a plus if you also have the following qualifications:
- Experience with component-based UI frameworks, such as React (preferred), Angular, Vue, etc...
- Interest in physics and the semiconductor industry.
- Experience with Python.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in continuous improvement of software architecture and development processes.
- Deliver quality software to customers.
- Create quality assurance, increase test coverage, and create delivery infrastructure.
- Design and implement user-friendly and high-performance user interfaces.
- Interpret and translate user feedback into features.
