Luceda Photonics and Alcyon Photonics are proud to announce the release of their joint white paper: “Validated Designs for Reliable Photonic Integrated Circuits – Bridging Simulation to Reality: Simulating Spatially Correlated Variation for Predictive PIC Yield Analysis.” 


As Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) gain momentum across datacom, telecom, and quantum computing, achieving high-volume manufacturing yield remains one of the greatest challenges. Even minor process variations, such as waveguide roughness or dimensional deviations, can significantly degrade device performance, especially in sensitive structures.


Building on Alcyon Photonics’ passive component library, validated for Tower Semiconductor’s process, this new study demonstrates how applying Luceda’s spatially correlated variation modeling enables designers to predict and optimize PIC yield before tape-out, reducing development cycle time and accelerating time-to-market.
