Semitronix is internationally recognised for its expertise in yield enhancement, data analytics and wafer-level testing in the semiconductor industry. This strategic partnership represents a major milestone for Luceda, providing the scale, investment, and complementary capabilities to accelerate its mission: enabling "first-time-right" photonic chip designs and supporting high-yield mass production on a global scale.
The acquisition, effective August 12th, 2025, creates a unique end-to-end offering in the integrated photonics market, combining Luceda's strengths in photonic chip design with Semitronix's EDA, data analytics, wafer testing and yield optimisation capabilities for the production of integrated photonics (silicon photonics) chips. This synergy will empower customers to drastically increase design, production speed and efficiency, leading to higher quality and yield for their designs.

The move is set to bolster the global integrated photonics ecosystem, solidifying Europe's position in the production landscape.

Maintaining Belgian roots and operational continuity
Luceda Photonics will continue to operate independently with its headquarters remaining in Belgium. The operational management will stay in place, ensuring continuity in both customer relationships and operational execution. The relevant Belgian authorities thoroughly reviewed and approved the acquisition. All necessary measures have been taken to protect intellectual property and enforce strict compliance with standards, including working towards ISO 27001certification and NIS2 standards.
PMV, an existing shareholder in Luceda Photonics, expressed its support for the acquisition.
