Ghent, Belgium, and Lausanne, Switzerland – November 4, 2026

Luceda Photonics and LIGENTEC today announced the release of the updated Luceda Process Design Kit (PDK) and a new native Design Rule Check (DRC) deck for LIGENTEC’s AN350 (v4.0.0) low-loss silicon nitride (SiN) platform. Featuring foundry-verified component black boxes optimized for both the C-band and O-band, the release combines updated process specifications, expanded module support, and integrated layout verification to streamline the Lab to Fab progression from circuit design to foundry submission.

For Photonic Integrated Circuit (PIC) design teams, up-to-date process data and automated layout verification are essential to reduce costly tape-out errors and accelerate time to market. Building on Luceda’s September 2026 launch of the statistical AN800 PDK and companion DRC deck, this release strengthens design enablement across LIGENTEC’s SiN platforms and meets PIC designers’ critical needs, providing an increasingly integrated workflow from simulation and layout verification to manufacturing.

While LIGENTEC’s AN800 platform offers high-confinement waveguides particularly suited to nonlinear photonics and compact integrated circuits, the updated AN350 platform provides a versatile, low-loss SiN platform with foundry-verified black boxes optimized specifically for both the C-band and O-band. The PDK supports applications in datacom, optical computing, and sensing, and expands access to key LIGENTEC modules including X2, LoCA-i, and LoCA-S, supporting designs that use thermal tuning or heterogeneous integration.

Alongside the PDK, Luceda’s native DRC deck enforces First Time Right design methodology. The new DRC deck runs directly inside the Luceda Photonics Design Platform, allowing designers to verify their layouts without exporting them to external verification tools. Built on the PDK’s native layer definitions, it enables engineers to check their layouts against foundry design rules throughout the design process, identify potential violations early, reduce avoidable design iterations, and shorten foundry review times.

With updated compact models and the new DRC deck reflecting LIGENTEC’s latest AN350 process specifications, the release delivers manufacturing-aware PIC design directly to optical engineering teams.

The updated Luceda PDK and native DRC deck for LIGENTEC’s AN350 platform are now available for all Luceda Photonics Design Platform users.
