New Luceda Link for Tidy3D: Accelerate your simulation flow from device to circuit!

We are excited to announce the launch of a new device simulation link: Luceda Link for Tidy3D. This integration allows you to run Finite-Difference Time-Domain (FDTD) simulations on layouts created in IPKISS, using FlexCompute's fast, cloud-based, hardware-accelerated Tidy3D platform. With this new Luceda Link, you can now design complete PICs and run component simulations all within your trusted Python environment.

The Luceda Link for Tidy3D is the latest addition to our family of Device Simulation Links, designed to streamline and accelerate your device-to-circuit simulation workflow. By automating the geometry setup, simulation process, and data management, this new integration enables you to reduce the chance of errors and focus on what matters most: building accurate and efficient models for your devices. This workflow is compatible out of the box to build models based on any Luceda PDK of your choice!

How it works:

1. Create your layout: Start by designing the layout you wish to simulate in IPKISS, along with a Tidy3D simulation recipe, or simply reuse an existing one.
2. Automated simulation setup: Let IPKISS handle it from here. A 3D representation of your layout will be automatically generated and sent to Tidy3D, along with your specified simulation settings.
3. Inspect, validate and run: Once the layout and simulation recipe are set up, you can launch the simulation job and save the results. Before running the simulation, you can inspect the simulation setup to feel confident that everything is configured correctly.
4. Build compact models and run Caphe circuit simulations: Use the Tidy3D simulation data to create compact models for your components in IPKISS. You can then use these components to design circuits and perform simulations using Caphe, IPKISS’ powerful circuit simulator.

Starting with the Luceda 2024.09 release, both the Luceda Link for Tidy3D and Tidy3D itself will be included in your Luceda installation.
