Integrated Photonics is seeing the emergence of high-quality IP libraries. Luceda Photonics, Alcyon Photonics, and Applied Nanotools (ANT) are leading this novel approach to chip design. To leverage the power of IP libraries, designers build on an existing foundation of  reliable design tools and robust process design kits (PDKs).

Join us for a webinar where Luceda, ANT, and Alcyon will showcase how to leverage Alcyon's PIP Cores to accelerate design on ANT's NanoSOI™ platform using Luceda design tools.

Luceda will introduce the Luceda Photonics Design platform and specifically show how PIC designers can easily use Alcyon’s PIP Cores® IP library. These tools cover the entire design chain from simulation of components and circuits all the way to verification.

ANT will then present an overview of the NanoSOITM rapid prototyping foundry service for silicon PICs. Fabrication process options such as oxide cladding, thermo-optic phase shifters, and edge couplers are available in their multi-project wafer (MPW) fabrication runs. The MPW process also features a fast turnaround time of less than two months, and superior silicon linewidth resolution down to 60 nm using 100 keV electron beam lithography (EBL) technology. ANT also provides a starting point for designers with their own foundry PDK, available to use on the Luceda IPKISS design platform.

Alcyon will showcase its IP Library for ANT NanoSOITM, which offers a comprehensive range of functionalities on the SOI platform. The library includes essential passive components for PICs, from fundamental structures like Multi Mode Interferometers (MMIs) and Directional Couplers (DCs) to more advanced elements such as mode (de)multiplexers and polarization converters & splitters. Additionally, Alcyon will highlight how the Library for ANT NanoSOI is continuously evolving to expand its capabilities and enhance performance, providing designers with cutting-edge solutions for next-generation PIC development.

By the end of this session, you'll have a thorough understanding of how to design and simulate PICs within Luceda IPKISS using Alcyon’s black-box IP components, explore the key elements in Alcyon’s PIP Cores® library for ANT’s NanoSOITM platform and their performance advantages, and learn how Applied Nanotools accelerates PIC prototyping, seamlessly taking your designs from simulation to fabrication.
