Luceda Photonics and Solinide Photonics Announce New PDK for Solinide Photonic’s Dispersion-Engineered SiN Platform
Luceda Photonics

Luceda Photonics and Solinide Photonics are proud to announce the first Process Design Kit (PDK) release from Solinide: a new Luceda PDK for Solinide’s single-layer 750 nm silicon nitride (SiN) platform. This PDK brings Solinide’s dispersion-engineered SiN technology directly into the Luceda Photonics Design Platform, enabling photonic integrated circuit (PIC) designers to rapidly prototype and validate advanced SiN devices.

Solinide Photonics specializes in SiN PIC fabrication for rapid prototyping, with a strong focus on a dispersion-engineered platform. The 750 nm thick SiN platform is optimized for applications that require precise dispersion control, including frequency comb generation, nonlinear photonics, and advanced sensing. Fabrication is based on state-of-the-art electron-beam (e-beam) lithography, offering an ultra-fine 0.5 nm manufacturing grid. This approach enables fast turnaround times and supports highly customized layouts on every chip.

The new Luceda PDK for Solinide Photonics provides a comprehensive, measurement-validated component library tailored primarily for O-band (1310 nm) operation, with select components available for C-band (1550 nm). With this PDK, Luceda users can now leverage a component library that includes waveguide cores, proprietary low-loss adiabatic bend designs for maximum performance, as well as integrated TiPt resistive heaters for accurate thermal tuning. All simulation models have been validated against measured device data, enabling predictive design with high confidence.

By integrating Solinide’s technology into the Luceda Photonics Design Platform, users can take advantage of a seamless design experience with flexible parametric cells, automated waveguide routing, and virtual fabrication for their PIC designs for dispersion-engineered applications. Designers can rapidly customize layouts, explore design variations, and reduce costly iteration cycles before fabrication. This turnkey workflow significantly accelerates the path from concept to fabricated prototype for dispersion-sensitive applications.

This first PDK from Solinide Photonics is now available only on the Luceda Photonics Design Platform. In addition to the advanced integrated design workflow, designers can benefit from dedicated technical support from Solinide Photonics to guide designs from the initial concept through fabrication, enabling fast and reliable prototyping of next-generation silicon nitride photonic circuits.
