This collaboration unites GF’s world-class, high-volume semiconductor manufacturing excellence and high-performance silicon photonics technology with Luceda’s industry-leading photonic integrated circuit (PIC) design framework, empowering the global photonics ecosystem to bring next-generation optical solutions to market faster and with greater confidence.
As the demand for high-bandwidth, low-power optical interconnects continues to surge across datacenters, telecommunications, LiDAR, and AI hardware, designers require a reliable path from concept to silicon. By offering a Luceda PDK, GF and Luceda are bridging the gap between designer intent and foundry reality, delivering a unified, highly automated design flow, and providing the benefits of a photonics native EDA platform.
This collaboration is designed to lower the barrier to entry for PIC design at GF, one of the leading foundries for silicon photonics technology worldwide.
