Students will learn how to fit a model to measurement data of a 1x2 multi mode inteferometer, which is used as a 50:50 splitter, using Python and IPKISS.flow
This component is part of the imec BIOPIX PDK for applications around 800-900nm wavelength, developed within the EU PIX4LIFE project.

Efficient Design of Integrated Photonic Circuits

3D electromagnetic field simulations are a very important aspect of integrated photonics design. They are able to describe component behavior when validated models obtained through measurements are unavailable or unreliable.
Nevertheless, photonics design teams struggle with the organizational aspects required to consistently configure such simulations properly. The Smart Simulation Models from the IPKISS-CST STUDIO SUITE link will make this aspect more easy and less error prone. In this webinar, this is demonstrated using the design of a glucose sensor.
